During Sydney Design week the Powerhouse Museum put on a range of events for kids, including Kamishibai presentations. Kamishibai is a 12th Century form of story-telling by monks who rode from village to village on bicycles with a small stage fitted to the back, and linked to the origins of manga and anime. They showed the pictures on the stage, drawn on scrolls while they told their story.
The Museum commissioned Sonny to create 30-odd line-drawings for 3 different stories. The stories were each about different objects displayed in the Museum.
